To keep accounts safe and follow Nigerian rules on payments, how much you can hold and add depends on how much we know about you.
| Level | How to reach it | Most you can hold | Most you can add per day |
|---|---|---|---|
| Level 0 | Create an account | ₦20,000 | ₦10,000 |
| Level 1 | Confirm your email and phone number | ₦300,000 | ₦300,000 |
| Level 2 | Confirm your identity | ₦5,000,000 | ₦2,000,000 |
You can see your level and limits on the Wallet page.
New accounts
For the first 24 hours a new account can spend up to ₦20,000 in total. This stops stolen cards being used on fresh accounts. After 24 hours the normal limits apply.
If a payment would go over your limit
We’ll tell you before you pay. If money arrives that takes you over the limit (for example a large bank transfer), it’s still credited. You just can’t add more until you’re back under it or move up a level.
Moving up a level
Open Wallet and tap Raise my limits. The page shows the three levels and walks you through each step.
- Level 1: confirm your email from the link we sent, then confirm your phone number with a code we text you. One account per phone number.
- Level 2: enter your BVN or NIN and the full name on it. We check it and you get a notification when it’s done, usually within a day.
We don’t keep your BVN or NIN. We store only its last 4 digits and a scrambled fingerprint, so one ID can’t be used to open many accounts. Checking it never touches your bank account.
