Number lifecycle

Where our numbers come from, how long you keep them, and what happens to them afterwards.

Effective 4 October 2026

Where numbers come from

Our verification numbers are real mobile numbers supplied by licensed partners in each country. We don’t own the SIM cards, and the same number may have been used by other people before you.

While you have it

  • One-time numbers are yours for up to 20 minutes, or until a code arrives and the order completes.
  • Rentals are yours for the period you paid for (7 or 30 days), plus any renewals.
  • Messages sent to the number while it is yours are shown only to you.

When it ends

  • The number goes back to our supplier and may later be given to someone else, including for the same app.
  • You cannot get a one-time number back. If you may need the same number again (to log in on a new phone, reset a password, or pass a security check), rent it instead.
  • Messages that arrive after your order or rental ends are not shown to you.

Renewals and grace period

If auto-renew is on, we try to renew your rental from your wallet before it ends, and remind you a day before. If renewal fails (for example, low balance), we keep trying for a short grace period. After that the rental ends and the number is released.

Keep your accounts safe

Before a number you used ends, move important accounts to a number you control long-term, or switch on the app’s own backup sign-in (email, authenticator app or recovery codes).
