Most orders get a code within a minute or two. When one doesn’t, it’s almost always one of these reasons, and you are never charged for a code that doesn’t arrive.
The common reasons
The app didn’t actually send it
Some apps quietly refuse to send a code, for example after too many attempts from your device or network, or if they don’t like the number. Check the app: did it say “code sent”? Did it ask you to choose SMS rather than a call?
The app has seen the number before
Our numbers are reused over time. If someone already used that number for the same app, the app may refuse it or say the number is taken. Use Try another number and you get a fresh number at no extra cost.
The app blocks numbers from that country
Some apps only accept numbers from certain countries, or block some countries at busy times. Check the success rate next to each country. A low or falling rate is a sign. Pick a country with a green rate (80% or more).
Your VPN or location doesn’t match
Many apps compare the number’s country with where you seem to be. If you use a VPN, set it to the same country as the number, or turn it off.
It just needs a moment
Codes usually take 10 – 90 seconds, but some apps are slower at busy times. The order waits 20 minutes before giving up.
What to do
- Wait at least 2 minutes after the app says the code was sent.
- Tap Try another number. This swaps the number for free.
- If that fails too, try a different country with a higher success rate.
- Still stuck? Cancel & refund gives you your money back straight away (available a couple of minutes after you buy, because the number needs a moment to be released).
